She feels comfortable working with both large and small groups. Kari can also work with classes on writing projects in more of a workshop-like experience.

Libraries

Kari is available in the summer for library visits and story hours. She will read one of her stories and also offer a craft or activity to go with one of her books. Kari’s library rates are offered on a sliding scale to help meet limited library budgets.

Comments About Kari’s Visits

Last February, Kari Allen did two school visits here in Springfield, Massachusetts. It was an extraordinary experience for all involved, but most importantly, for the nearly 200 children whose lives she touched that day. Kari’s work speaks for itself, and her presentation style is engaging, energetic and inspiring. You can tell that in addition to being an author, she has decades of experience as an educator and is a pro at managing large groups of young students. As they say, the proof is in the pudding. After her visit, the classroom teachers and principal reached out to reiterate Kari’s impact and to share pictures of books that the children had already been inspired to create as a result of their time with her. Any school would be lucky to have her!

Kari Allen is an awesome writer and a fabulous presenter! Kari visited the Sanbornton Public Library for our summer program. She was very flexible as she presented for about 60 kids from ages 2-12. Kari is also a teacher and she is great at creating a rapport with the kids, keeping everyone engaged and feeling included. She made meaningful connections between her stories and the lives of the children. We loved having Kari visit and would highly recommend having her at your school or library!

Thank YOU for a great morning of sharing yourself and your books and inspiring us all. You were so prepared and engaging with the kids. I liked how you had a different focus for each group and were able to share so much in a short amount of time.

One of the things I loved most was the time you spent having kids talk about the kinds of books they like to read and what they might like to write about. It made reading and writing feel cool. I always love when kids talk about reading and books they like.
