Testimonials:

“Kari Allen's educator guides are creative, experiential, and standards-aligned, and Kari herself is such a thoughtful, attentive collaborator! I'm grateful to share her work with teachers, librarians and readers everywhere.”

Kari’s teacher’s guides are incredible. As both a teacher and an author, Kari has an unparalleled ability to find educational and entertaining connections to learning through story. When she created a guide for A HOME NAMED WALTER, she pulled everything from music to social-emotional to math activities from the book. For ODE TO A BAD DAY, she came up with inventive ways to engage students without any worksheets at all! She even created Reader’s Theater for ODE — bringing story and performance together! Kari’s multi-dimensional perspective lends itself to understanding how to supplement stories long after they are read. She understands authors. She understands teachers. She understands parents. And most of all, she understands kids. I plan on leaning on Kari’s work for all my books. If you are an author who wants to find meaningful and creative ways to support your books for the long-run, reach out to Kari!

Kari’s activity guides are playful, educational, and full to the brim with ready-to-go activities. As a teacher, I love the many lessons that are highly engaging for my students while aligning with content standards. As an author, I am blown away by her skill to find treasures and teachable moments that that I didn’t even realize existed in my own stories. I’m in awe of her magic!

Kari’s teacher guides are thorough and creative classroom supplements for any book. An educator and author herself, Kari understands how to identify the heart of a story and align it with curriculum standards across subjects. I love being able to share her guide with educators ahead of school visits, and often use activities from it at story times at libraries or bookstores.

Kari is a pleasure to work with! She comes up with great layout ideas and is open to input from you. Her education background helps her easily find standards links that would take me days to dig up on my own and her experience as an author gives her insights as to what would be best to include.
